The Speakeasy Tour: A Social and Historical Journey Through NYC
The Speakeasy Pub and Prohibition History Tour NYC is a unique combination of rich storytelling and social event. The Tour takes a group of people form around the world on a journey to three of New York City’s hidden bars and historic speakeasies. Each of the three venues visited during the three-hour tour deliver their own contribution to the rich tapestry of NYC nightlife be it underground, hidden bar, a modern take on the speakeasy experiences or an original venue still operating on the site it occupied in the 1920’s.
In visiting this mix of iconic bars, guests receive a taste of NYC’s premier mixology, some with an ode to the Gilded Age and others a purely 21st century twist. Our Prohibition history is focused on the largely untold stories centered around women and minorities who played a major role in the underground culture, but were not recognized in the myths, of course, big money, politics and corruption also played a significant role in Prohibition and we cover all that territory as well.
After meeting in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood to start the Tour, we skirt around Times Square to the West, North and East depending on that evenings itinerary. Guests enjoy express entry at each bar visited and reserved areas to enjoy the most authentic and creative cocktail menus in the city. Our hosts deliver a performance of “edutainment” with a dose of history sprinkled into the experience, but also plenty of time for guests to socialize and immerse themselves into the energy vibe that in New York City nightlife. It is tailor-made for date night couples and solo travelers.
The Speakeasy Pub and Prohibition History Tour is truly a one-of-a-kind-Experience in the Big Apple!
